ID Shield — a trendsetter and authority in RFID production, shown with leather wallets, a contactless card and RFID-blocking foils
We Reinforce · Built into the product
ID Shield · RFID-blocking foils & textile · TÜV & FIPS certified

Your wallet is broadcasting.
Make it stop.

Contactless cards and biometric passports talk over radio. So can a thief, with a cheap reader. ID Shield is the metallised inner liner that turns a wallet, a card sleeve or a passport cover into a Faraday cage — without changing the way it looks or feels.

Inside the brand

An RF problem, solved with materials.

Every contactless payment card, biometric passport and corporate ID badge has an antenna inside it. That antenna can be read at distance by any compatible reader — including ones held in a backpack on the train. The fix is physics, not software: a thin conductive layer between the card and the antenna outside.

ID Shield is that layer. A flexible, leather-friendly metallised composite that drops into the wallet construction at the lining stage. The customer sees a normal lining; the cards sit behind a Faraday cage.

01Radio Frequency Identification

What RFID is — and why it leaks.

RFID is wireless data exchange between a card reader or payment terminal and an unpowered tag — a card, a smart key, a passport. No contact, no battery, no consent required from the tag. Transfers happen over the air at LF, HF or UHF, and the tag answers whoever asks.

Passports, credit and debit cards, identity and key cards, car keys and access-control cards now carry passive RFID/NFC chips as standard. Anyone with a reader can interrogate them from a distance — without physical contact, and without the holder noticing.

How RFID communication works between reader and tag
Reader and tag exchange data over the air — no contact, no battery in the card.
02Digital privacy threats

Convenience for the buyer. Opportunity for the thief.

RFID gives travellers, motorists and shoppers real convenience. The risks arrive with it — and every one of them is a claim your customer can make against the product.

  • Electronic data theft by illegal scanning
  • Theft of personal information
  • Electronic pickpocketing
  • Payment fraud
  • Unintended contactless withdrawals
  • Simultaneous payment transactions
  • Card conflict in dense-tag areas
  • Interference between payment terminals
  • Tracking of the holder
  • Car theft and car burglary via key fob
  • Sniffing, spoofing and replay
  • Man-in-the-middle and relay-station attacks
  • Cloning and emulation
  • Encryption and security leaks

All legal and illegal readers can address the same chips. The attack is silent, contactless, and invisible from a distance — which is why the countermeasure has to be built into the article, not the app.

04ID Shield product range

Three grades, one spectrum.

IDSHIELD Regular

The basic ID Shield article, covering the complete spectrum of security. Easy to use, available in non-adhesive and self-adhesive variants.

  • Prevents data theft and data abuse
  • Prevents payment fraud and identity fraud
  • Protects the chip from external damage
  • Lightweight, wrinkle-free, uniform thickness
  • Temperature-resistant and weldable
  • Waterproof, hermetically sealed, grease- and gas-proof
  • REACH-compliant · no hazardous, allergenic or toxicological components
  • Custom widths and dimensions

IDSHIELD Premium

The ultimate grade — a special membrane coated on both sides for softness, stitchability and durability. Replaces other reinforcements, and is noise-free compared with the rest of the range. Nominated by global brands.

  • Soft, design- and stitch-friendly, perfect thickness
  • Noise-free in the finished article
  • Doubles as a reinforcement layer
  • Lightweight, weldable, hermetically sealed
  • Waterproof, vapour-, grease- and gas-proof
  • Heat- and cold-resistant

  • With or without adhesive · custom dimensions

IDSHIELD Tex

Metallic polyester fabric with electro-less pure copper and nickel coating — a shielding textile that cuts and sews like ordinary fabric.

  • 75–105 dB attenuation, 10 MHz – 3.60 GHz
  • Light, flexible, easy to cut and sew
  • High conductivity and RF shielding performance
  • Superior tarnish and corrosion resistance
  • Soft and noise-free
  • Temperature-resistant, weldable
  • Sealable barrier for corrosion-protective packaging
  • REACH-compliant · custom dimensions
05What it blocks

Across the contactless spectrum.

Different cards live at different frequencies. ID Shield is engineered to block both bands the consumer carries.

125 kHz

Low-frequency band. Older proximity cards, building access tokens, livestock tags.

13.56 MHz

High-frequency band. Contactless payment, biometric passports, public-transit cards, modern access cards.

ISO 14443

The standard most contactless payment cards comply with. Tested blocked.

ISO 15693

The standard for vicinity cards including some biometric passports. Tested blocked.
