The System

Kyotex® is the innovative and ecological gluing system used by major Italian and European footwear and leather works manufacturers for numerous applications, specifically for fastening the cleaning insole in footwear.

The Kyotex System® is based on the coupling of an innovative self-adhesive, high performance film; it is made up ofKYO range machinery and pairs of specific adhesive tapes for each surface to be glued.

Characterized by great versatility and cleaning, Kyotex System® allows higher quality and significant production increases compared to conventional processes. Since it was created in 2007, Kyotex® has glued more than a billion insoles with more than 1000 machines in 50 countries.

Advantages

Innovation
The Kyotex® system revolutionises the cleaning insole gluing method, automating a long and costly process which is still done by hand today.
Advantages:
– Just one machine is needed to cover the work of all the assembly lines
– Reduction of labour

Made in Italy
The Kyotex® system has been adopted as the official gluing system of cleaning insoles in the Italian footwear market.
With more than 800 machines active in the country, ALC Tecnologie Adesive serves all the most famous Italian and foreign brands in this market.
Advantage:
– Guarantee of gluing quality

Eco Friendly
Because this is an adhesive which is 100% solid, anallergic, transpirable and solvent free and therefore free of harmful fumes which eliminates the fixed stations with flammable fume exhaust hoods.
For the worker this is a guarantee against occupational illnesses stemming from respiration, allergies and incorrect hand position during processing.
Advantages:
– Increases the quality of the finished product
– Increases work quality
– Reduces risk for the worker and therefore also legal problems
– Reduction of fire and explosion risks because flammable fumes are eliminated

Versatility and Cleaning
Key advantages of Kyotex®.
In fact, the system allows insoles and accessories of any shape, size or design to be glued in a simple, quick and clean way, ensuring precise edges without any smudges.
This is achieved thanks to the coupling of the two tapes.
Advantages:
– Free space for stylistic expression
– Total cleaning of the insole
– elimination of machine and insole cleaning operations
– More accurate application because the quantity of glue applied is precisely what is needed to cover only the profile of the insole
– Application of the adhesive on only one of the insole surfaces and not directly on the shoe, a more difficult application with closed or pointed shoes
– Elimination of down times due to evaporation of the solvent with conventional glues
– Possibility of preparing insoles with adhesive applied off line

Quality
Because it eliminates clots and uneven spreading.
Also, because the adhesive is a “pressure sensitive” material, always active, the more you walk, the better the adhesion.
Advantage:
– The resistance to high temperatures, the absence of clots and unevenness, and the quantity of adhesive itself on the entire surface, make the insole or the part perfect for stitching. In fact, with this product the needle gets significantly less sticky, therefore preventing the need to stop production. Also, because it is a solid material, there is no problem of glue leaking out.

Economic Optimisation
Because it allows the prevention of inefficiencies and costs that cannot always be controlled, thereby reducing manual labour and allowing pre-glued insoles to be stored.
It also eliminates system costs connected to safety (respirators, eye protection and masks, goggles…), bulk (Kyotex® takes up just 0.5 m2) and mobility (Kyotex® can be moved independently based on the customer’s needs to any area of the factory)

Increase of Production
Automating a process which has been carried out by hand until now, Kyotex® is able to increase production speed during insole gluing by about 20%.

The machines

The KYO range machines (KYO 100, KYO 101, KYO 500 Small and Large, KYO B20) meet all the efficiency requirements.

In fact they are user friendly, they do not require specialized personnel, the electronics are reliable, adjustments are quick, start-up is immediate, maintenance is simplified and they are ultra-efficient in both continuous and off line work.

Adhesive tapes

The range of patented Kyotex® adhesive tapes has different types of adhesive formulated to maximise adhesion on a specific material and to optimise performance based on the application. Thanks to the coupling of two complementary tapes the adhesive is transferred perfectly blocked out, without marks and with the most uniform spreading possible. The tapes are wound on special spools on which the code is indicated so that they can be traced.

– laboratory tested
– 100% solid, solvent free, high adhesive power
– resistant to high temperatures, anallergic and transpirable
– glue most materials used in the footwear field

Accessories

The Kyotex® system has a series of additional components that complete the functionality of the machines.

The extension surface, provided as standard equipment on the KYO 100 and KYO 101 which, along with the KYO 500, allow the operator to work more easily, providing a resting place for the material to be processed, thereby guaranteeing better work continuity.

The rewinder allows the processed insoles exiting the KYO 100 to be continuously collected in the form of a practical roll. Rewinding takes place on a Kyotex® profile core but can be provided alternatively for standard cardboard 52 mm, 3” and 6” cores. The rewinding speed is such to compensate for any speed that is set on the KYO 100. The rewinder is powered with voltage of 200~240V in alternating current and at a frequency of 48~62 Hz. The maximum power absorbed is 120W.

The insole collection tray allows the insoles exiting the KYO 100 to be easily collected in a specific tray placed in the most favourable position underneath the machine output surface. The design was specifically studied to receive insoles of any size in an orderly way. The intuitive release of the tray itself allows it to be easily emptied and immediately reattached to its bracket.

Applications

Kyotex System® is the innovative patented and ecological system that makes various applications in the footwear, leather works and automotive sectors possible and more efficient.
In particular it guarantees maximum versatility of use and facilitates gluing the insoles without the use of harmful adhesives and most of the commonly used materials in the footwear field.

FAQ

1) How do you turn on the machine?
1 connect the power plug (220 volt)
2 switch on the machine with the main swithc
3 release the mushroom emergency button
4 select the forward travel direction

2) How do you disassemble the machine?
Please watch the KYO 100 guide video, chapter 2

3) How to assemble the machine?
Please watch the KYO 100 guide video, chapter 3

4) How to replace the rolls?
Please watch the KYO 100 guide video, chapter 4

5) What is the maximum processable insole thickness?
It depends on the material.
Up to 2-3 mm with rigid support (non-compressible) and  up to 6 mm with compressible support.

6) How do you set the pressure of the rollers?
By means of the crank from the operator side, following the general rule (valid for leather): each mm of thickness, 1 lap less starting from the maximum pressure

7) How do you remove the adhesive along perimeter of the insole?
Increasing the pressure and entering the insole in more useful way possible (it dipends on the insole shape).

8) How do you remove wrinkles from papers?
Lowering the pressure between the main rollers.

9) Why the machine doesn’t work?
Check:
– the power wire is connected to the socket;
– turn the power switch to the “ON” position;
– turn the red knob of the emergency stop button;
– gear selector to “FORWARD” position;
– rollers protection in properly position.

10) How do you align the rollers?
Please watch the KYO 100 guide video, chapter 5

11) Which is the best product?
There is not a best product.
The strength of the adhesive it depends on the material you are bonding.

12) How many pairs of insoles can I make with one box?
It depends on the length of the insole, but the calculation it’s easy
For example, in average, for woman shoes, you can put 4 insoles per meter, so, in 1000 mt you can have 4000 insoles, 2000 pairs.

13) Witch is the cost per pair?
Also here it’s just a simple calculation.
Cost of the box/ number of pair per box

14) Can I use the Kyotex System in other applications (leather goods)?
Of course. Kyotex System® was born for the shoe market, but his versatility, cleanness and ease of use, permits to use it also in the leather market if you sew (always remember that the tape was studied for the resistance to the shear).

15) Why it’s a good material if you sew?
Because it’s a solid adhesive, very thin and resistant to very high temperature.
This permits to the needle not to get dirty as much as with the liquid glues.
Moreover, the machine gives uniformly the adhesive long all the area of the insole.

16) How many people do I need for the machine?
Just one. The KYO 100 machine it’s an outside line machine. With just one person you can adhesivize the insoles for all the different lines.

17) Does this person need to be specialized?
No. The machine has been studied in order to be easily used by everyone.

18) Which is the resistance to temperature?
All the technical information about the adhesive are reported in the TDS.
It resist from -40 ° C to + 160 ° C

19) For how long can I keep the insole on the paper?
In case of offline system for factories which have large productions the socks and insoles could  glued and kept for 12 months.

20) Do I need to clean the machine?
No. We only suggest to cover at the end of the day the pat of exposed adhesive in order not to waste it.

21) Which is the best way apply the insole?
The best way to apply the insole it’s from the hell to the toe (like you can see on the video on our web site)
In order to simplify this operation, because the adhesive in water proof, if you whet with just some water the surface of the insole, the glue looses his adhesion and becomes slippery and helps the insertion of the insole. When the water evaporates, the adhesive reactivates and regains its adhesiveness.
